End of Term
So today we said 'Goodbye' to our fabulous year 6 children and we wish them well for the future. 'Always remember you can achieve anything by trying".
We have also said 'Goodbye and thank you' to Mrs Dunn, Miss Forrester, Miss Lynch and Miss Stevenson. Best wishes to them all.
The staff now deserve a well earned break so if you have any queries please contact me and not your child's class teacher as they will not answer. I have been told to have a lovely well-earned break.
I am still having to carry out track and trace for the next week or so. If your child tests positive for covid 19 then please contact me on dojo or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a wonderful holiday, stay safe and we will be back on Thursday September 2nd @ 8.45!
YEAR 6 TRANSITION TO SECONDARY
For the attention of Y6 parents,
Once again transition to secondary school has been cancelled due to COVID 19. Some secondary school's are organising COVID safe visits. I will continue to liaise with the chosen secondary schools to try and make this happen for our Y6 children.
INSET DAY REMINDER
Just another reminder that Monday 28th June is an Inset day, therefore school is closed to the children.
As you are aware, we have a second visit from Ofsted a few weeks ago. The visit once again had a really positive outcome.
The visit couldn't change our outcome however it does show that the school is making good progress in getting itself to being a 'Good School'.
Again I would like to thank the children, parents, staff and governors for all their hard work.
Please visit the Ofsted section on the school website or see dojo app.
IMPORTANT COVID 19 UPDATE
I have just received information from PHE England regarding the current status of Covid 19 on Wirral.
The big change is that if you are a close contact of a person who has tested positive, you must self isolate and get a PCR test. This is regardless of whether you have symptoms or not. (Do not use the twice self home kits.) If you do require a PCR test but have no symptoms when you book a test on the council website use the section that says "the council has asked me to take a test."
Please continue to follow the 'hands, face, space' message.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
LATEST COVID UPDATE
I have just received information to pass on to you all from PHE regarding a COVID 19 update.
Although on Wirral cases are low, PHE are reminding parents and carers to self isolate and get a PCR test if anyone in the household has any of the three main symptoms - cough, loss of taste or smell or a temperature. Parents and carers should inform school of this. Please contact me on email@example.com
Also home Lateral Flow Device kits should not be used to test symptomatic primary-aged children to find out if they have COVID or not. Please book a supervised PCR test at www.wirral.gov.uk
Thank you again for your co-operation and support.
Have a lovely holiday
Parents' Evening Update
Parents' evening will continued as planned tomorrow and on Thursday.
Please be mindful that the appointments are timed to 7 minutes. This will be an opportunity for the class teacher to discuss your child's progress, their attitudes to returning to school after Lockdown and their attitude to learning.
After 7 minutes the appointment will automatically end, so if you feel that you have a concern about your child that couldn't be discussed then please make an appointment with the class teacher later in the week.
We are hoping for no technical hitches and your link should be found in your email inbox.
Enjoy the rest of your evening,
Ofsted will be inspecting the school tomorrow (12th May) and we kindly ask you to take part in the parent survey linked below.
If you are a registered parent or carer of a pupil at the school, you can tell us your views about the school by completing Ofsted's online survey, Ofsted Parent View, at: www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.
Thank you in advance for completing the survey.
PARENTS EVENING UPDATE
After some technical difficulties, our parent's evening booking system is now up and running. Mrs Lightwing has tested it and can confirm that we are good to go!
If you click on the following link
and select parent log in. It will then ask you for your details and your child's details. This will then take you to the booking screen, please select your child's teacher and then choose a time. When completed you will receive a confirmation email that also contains a link to your appointment.
If you have any difficulties please get in touch!
Thanks for your patience!
We seen to be having some technical difficulties regarding Parents evening.
I will update you when I know it is working correctly.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the days have changed to Wednesday and Thursday.
I will contact you later this evening with an update.
Parents' evening Update
Parents evening has been arranged for next Monday and Wednesday. This will be done online via School Cloud.
Please check your email account after 4pm this afternoon where you should receive a link to make your appointment. Your child's class teacher will NOT send an appointment time home.
These will be 7 minute appointments, your child's work will be added to their dojo portfolio over the week so you can see their work.
I have just received an update about COVID - 19 testing from the Authority. Due to falling case numbers across Wirral, the advice now is...
If you or your child have any of the 3 main symptoms
(high temperature, cough or loss of taste or smell) then you must book a test.
DO NOT get a test if you or your child have any of the wider symptoms.
If your child, a family member or close contact have a main symptom then please inform school immediately and self isolate until you have a confirmed positive test.
Thank you all for continuing to socially distance and wear a mask when coming to school.
Y5 SWIMMING - Week beginning 12.4.21 to 23.4.21
A reminder that all children in year 5 will be swimming starting on Monday the 12th for the next two weeks.
Please ensure they have the correct swimming wear with them everyday with a clean, dry towel.
The children do NOT come in their swimwear, they will change just before they leave for the session.
I hope that you enjoyed your Easter break with lots of chocolate treats?
School will reopen on Monday 12th April, there are NO changes to how the children enter and leave the school. Although Government restrictions are changing, school is continuing as it was before. Social distancing, reducing the amount of people on site and all adults wearing a mask unless exempt. Therefore years 1 to 6 will enter the school site at 8.35am and Foundation children will line up after the main rush of children and will enter as in small groups as they have been. At the end of the day, Foundation parents will enter site at 3.05pm and then parent's of Years 1 and 2 approx or just before 3.10pm. Years 3 to 6 will be leaving after 3.10pm in the staggered style from the main gate.
Thank you for you cooperation and patience.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
