Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome to the Foundation 1 Home Learning Section where you will find a breakdown of the weekly activities for F1 to support your child's learning and well-being. We believe home learning is a very enriching and positive experience but please make sure that your first priority is a happy home and remember if you feel you can't do any home learning, a little bit of learning is better than no learning at all!
You can submit evidence of your child's home learning via the Dojo app. I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful work!
Many thanks
Mr Croft
1) This week your child has revisited their work on oral blending and segmenting. Why not have some fun at home by asking your child to get things by segmenting the word for them to blend to show understanding e.g. "can you get me the a-pp-le" or "can you put on your sh-oo-s'. Remember to send me some dojo pictures for points!
1) Visit the School 'Numbots' website https://play.numbots.com/#/account/school-login/40944 (logins were sent home with your child) and spend 20mins working on your basic counting skills. I will be checking at my end and the children who complete the task will be awarded Homework Dojo points and a chance to get in Mr Croft's prize box!
2) This week your child has been working on the doubling skills for numbers within 10. You can support them at home by enjoying this fun YouTube song with them https://youtu.be/8jOzhiACB68 remember to send me some dojo pictures for points!
1) To support your child's 'love of reading' as part of our literacy programme read to your child nightly before bed remembering the value of conversation and targeted questioning to enhance their experience;
1) As them about the main characters, plot and setting.
2) Get them to predict what might happen next as part of enjoying reading.
3) At the end ask them about their favourite bits and which bits they didn't like.
4) Can they retell the story in their own words?
Finally, don't forget to read your child's S.T.A.R book with them, they chose that book themselves just for you to share with them.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
