Begin by revising the sounds your child has learnt (Set 1-3) by playing this flash card game;

09:40-09:50 - Phonics Phase 1 - Rhythm & Rhyme - Introduction Activity
To warm up before todays focus we'll begin by reading a Rhyming Story story from your collection or watching this 'Stick Man' by Julia Donaldson on YouTube, encourage your child to listen to the rhyming sections.

09:50-10:00 - Phonics Phase 1 - Rhythm & Rhyme - Main Activity
Today we will play the game "I know A World" from the Letters & Sounds Government Document.
Begin with the prompt; "I know a word that rhymes with (cat), you need to put one in your head and the word is ... (hat)"
Enjoy playing the game with your child challenging them to say a word which matches with your initial word. Continue using lots of different simple rhyming families e.g. '_at', '_ig', '_eg' etc. until your child shows they understand.

10:10-10:30 - Main Activity - Active Maths
Main Activity 1. Mark an area, between two points, in your learning space, or preferable outside. 2. Challenge your child to run to and from the marker as many times as they can in 10 seconds 3. Now challenge your child to do a PE activity such as jumping jacks or burpies for 10 seconds. 4. Challenge your child to work out the difference between the two scores using objects or number lines. 5. Challenge your child to record this as a calculation, first as an unsolved calculation e.g. 10-_=6 then fill in the difference discovered to solve the calculation. 6. Repeat using different PE activities. |

Today we will continue to join Lindsey for her music lesson as we start Unit 2 Lesson 2. This lesson will mainly use your voice, however if you have some similar items which she uses you may want to get these to join in with her. If you don't have anything the same as her just try to join in the songs and enjoy the experience.

Begin by talking about the pictures. Ask them questions such as "What can you see, where are they, what are they doing, who is there and why? Once you have talked about the 'picture clues' challenge your child to read the words. Children should be able to identify, segment and blend the words with minimal support.

Today is our last day to finish crafting your party art for your Zoom Party on Friday. Remember to make party hats, party decorations, party craft costumes, party place mats, party accessories! Then you can decorate your space ready for our Friday celebration!!!
