Begin by reminding yourself of all the different ways we can 'percuss' our body (Body Percussion). This YouTube clip will help:
09:50-10:00 - Phonics Phase 1 - Body Percussion - Main Activity
Yesterday we explored using instruments to change the way we moved (fast, slow, quite, loud etc.) today we will use this knowledge with our Body Percussion work.
Begin by collecting some interesting toys from around your house. Explain to your child that we will use 'claps' to mark the syllables in the name of the object (e.g. 'orange' would have 2 claps where as 'transformer' would have3). Challenge your child to clap the syllables for each of your objects.
Extend the activity by using body percussion eg. stamping, patting etc.
Talk about the sound your child is making giving them good adjectives to use.
Send me a video to let me know how they got on.

Today we will join Lindsey for her first music lesson. This lesson will mainly use your voice, however if you have some similar items which she uses you may want to get these to join in with her. If you don't have anything the same as her just try to join in the songs and enjoy the experience.
Upload a short video to Dojo for me to watch your child listening and attention, their musicality and their imagination work.
11:15-11:30 - This Week's Book is "Sid Did It"

Begin by talking about the pictures. Ask them questions such as "What can you see, where are they, what are they doing, who is there and why? Once you have talked about the 'picture clues' challenge your child to read the words. Children should be able to identify, segment and blend the words with minimal support.
11:30-12:00 - Main Activity
Continue your Spring art with your child to support in their level of creativity and fine motor skill application. You could draw, paint, colour, chalk or even junk model something amazing!
