Spelling - 20-30 minute activity
Spelling Focus Words – The focus spelling rule for the week is words with ‘silent’ letters – letters whose presence cannot be predicted from the pronunciation of the word.
Task 1 – Can you rewrite each of these spelling words in the following ways: joined up, not joined up, in capital letters and then in a different colour?

Topic - Science
This week we are going to focus on some of the living things on our planet. We are looking at animals and paying particular focus on how animals have adapted to living in certain environments.
Below is the link to today’s lesson which looks at how animals have adapted.
After you have completed the lesson we would like you to design your own animal; draw, colour and give them a name. We want you to place them in a biome of your choice, please draw the background to show your biome. We would then like you to label your animals with what adaptations it has which allow it survive in that particular biome.
This week you will be looking at the extract – ‘Robin Hood and Little John’.
Task 1 – Firstly, I want you to read through the extract in your head and reading aloud. For your first activity, I want you to look for the following four words in the extract and highlight them. Then, your task for today is to find the definitions for these following four words:
