09:30-09:40 - Phonics Revision
Begin by revising the sounds your child has learnt (Set 1-3) by playing this flash card game;
https://www.phonicsbloom.com/uk/game/flash-cards?phase=2
Practice the sound with your child as it appears on the screen.
Send me a message to let me know how they got on, did they remember any before they heard the sound? Do they recognise any of the sounds they see in the environment?
09:40-09:50 - Phonics Phase 1 - Rhythm & Rhyme - Introduction Activity
To warm up before todays focus we'll begin by reading a Rhyming Story story from your collection or watching this 'Cave Baby' by Julia Donaldson on YouTube, encourage your child to listen to the rhyming sections.
Send me a short message on Dojo to let me know how they got on.
09:50-10:00 - Phonics Phase 1 - Rhythm & Rhyme - Main Activity
Today's work will need some puppets, you may have some in your collection otherwise you can use favourite teddys or a grown up's socks!
1) Begin by making up silly rhyming names for a pair of puppets (e.g. Fizzy Wizzy Lizzy and Hob Tob Bob).
2) Use the puppets to tell a silly story. Remember to leave gaps in your story for your child to fill in with a rhyming word e.g. "Are you poorly Lizzy? Oh dear. Fizzy Wizzy Lizzy is feeling sick and…dizzy" or "Bob is very excited. Today he is going to be a builder. Hob Tob Bob has got a new…job".
If you need some further guidance Mama Khan does a great job!
Send me a video to let me know how they got on.

09:40-10:00 - Phonics Phase 2 - Blending New Sounds For Reading
Continue to play 'Cross The River' with your child. Place across your learning space something for them to jump over, it could be material, paper or other items, this will be your river! Next you will need slips of paper or a pad to write on, this will be your child's passport to cross! Then enjoy challenging your child to sound out and blend digraphs and words to cross the river!
Part 1) Can the recognise the digraphs or, ur, ow, and oi be able to cross?
Part 2) Write CVCC or CCVC words (foil, owl, snow, coin ...) can they sound out a word to cross?
Part 3) If you give them a few CVCC or CCVC word which you sound out for them can they choose the correct word to be able to cross?

10:10-10:30 - Main Activity
Today you will need a washing up bowl with a small amount of water in it and different containers which have a circle, square, triangle and rectangle bottom. These containers needs to be waterproof! This activity is better done outside but will work indoors with paper also.
Select two of your containers and dip the bottom of them in your water. Using them as stamps, begin by making a 2D shape repeating pattern on the ground or on paper. Challenge your child to recognise and repeat the pattern then invite them to continue the pattern using the resources.
Repeat this activity until your child has shown you they understand and have been successful. If you would like to challenge them why not try adding a double shape to your pattern e.g. "circle, circle, square ..." or even extending your pattern to three 2D shapes.
Send me a dojo photo of their learning.

10:10-10:30 - Main Activity - Mr Croft's Maths Challenge Question
To solve Mr Croft's challenge question you will need:
This week's question:
"There are 15 astronauts on a space mission to a new planet, the captain calls 8 of them back to the rocket to fight spider aliens, how many are left behind?"
Challenge your child to:
1) Understand from the calculation what you 'have' and what you 'don't have'
2) Use the resources to 'act out' the problem to find the answer.
3) Use the resources to explore further discovering 'what would happen if you had different values in?', 'what would the difference be if there were 15 astronauts but only 7 made it back to the rocket?'
Upload pictures of your child's learning onto dojo.
10:45-11:15
